General Book Discussion-We are All Completely Beside Ourselves

Our general book discussion group, which includes eccentric people reading eccentric books, meets on the second Tuesday of every month for a potluck and discussion. This month we are reading Karen Joy Fowler's We are All Completely Beside Ourselves.  The story follows the Cooke family; our protagionist Rosemary, a once bright and talkative young woman, who has wrapped herself in silence, refusing to talk about the event that destroyed her family. Her brother is now wanted by the FBI, her mother a shell of her former herself, her father has removed himself from the world, and her sister Fern is perhaps the most changed of all. To discover more about this unforgettable and richly imaginative novel, check one out at the circulation desk.
